Elite DE lands Notre Dame offer

Max Wright, one of the top defensive ends in the recruiting class of 2018, landed an offer from Notre Dame on Sunday.

It's no secret Notre Dame's future success hinges on the Irish's ability to land elite defensive linemen.

Notre Dame targeted one of the nation's best defensive ends with an offer on Sunday.

Max Wright, a 6-foot-4, 275-pounder from James Taylor High School in Katy, Texas, is considered by most scouting services as one of the best in the nation.

As a junior, he recorded 75 tackles, including 18 for a loss, nine sacks and 18 quarterback hurries, and he also blocked two kicks, broke up three passes and scored six touchdowns on offense.

Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Stanford, Texas and USC are among the other schools that have offered Wright.
